Yunnan Baiyao: A Must Have for Your Survival Kit

One area sometimes neglected in our first aid and survival kits is a coagulator. A severe wound or internal bleeding can quickly become life threatening if not attended to. Yunnan Baiyao is one of the best products you can find for this type of situation and is a must have in your kits.

Yunnan Baiyao -aka- Chinese white powder is made exclusively in China, and has been used in many countries for wound care and internal bleeding, both in humans and dogs.  It comes in capsules and powder, and can be applied directly to wounds, or taken internally to stop bleeding of internal organs. It is also used for extreme bruising and heavy menstruation.



You should be careful using this or any other herb you are not familiar with. If you are not sure how to use it, you can contact someone in your area that uses it for their patients. With that being said, in an emergency situation you can apply the powder to a wound or take this orally and get yourself to a hospital. To speed up healing after surgery or major trauma like a broken bone, the rule of thumb is 3 capsules per day for 3 days then 1 a day for a week. Yunnan Baiyao will lose it's effectiveness over time so it's not something you want to take as a supplement. Only take it for a few days. Women who use this for heavy menstruation only take it during their cycle.

For your pets, consult with a veterinarian who does holistic medicine. Your regular vet may also have knowledge of this herb since it is becoming fairly popular for treating bleeding tumors in dogs.
