Health Benifits of Cranberries

Cranberry juice is one of the most common home remedies for treating urinary tract infections and studies show it can treat a UTI quickly. It increases the acid in your urine so bacteria can't grow easily and makes your bladder wall slippery, so bacteria can't stick to it.

Drinking cranberry juice on a regular basis can be a great preventive care for those who suffer regular UTI's. The vitamin C and fructose in cranberries is a great complement to any antibiotics prescribed by your physician.

If you are taking a cranberry supplement make sure it is fortified with Vitamin C; Take with Acidophilus to keep a balanced PH.

Cranberries can relieve the pain associated with UTI’s, kidney stones, relieve cramps and spasms in the urinary tract, and prevent the formation of kidney stones.

Cranberry treatments have also been effective in controlling auto-immune diseases, cancer, Cold Sores, bed wetting and tooth decay.

The important thing to remember is to use 100% cranberry juice as most of the drinks or cocktails on the market are loaded with things you cant pronounce and most of the time flavored or contain very little actual cranberry juice. This time of year you can easily purchase fresh cranberries and make your own juice. Click here for my cran-apple recipe.

Cranberries freeze very well. Buy them when they are in season. Freeze them for up to a year! This way you can incorporate them into your diet all year long.
